Would you like to share some of your personal life? Bishop Evert: To ordaine suitable people. To be a ‘ servus servorum ’. I am a Zenmeditation teacher, a surgeon and urologist. Regionary Bishop in Denmark and the German speaking countries inMiddle Europe. What is the challenge for your church? Bishop Evert: Economic challenge, lowmembership. Bishop Gert Jan: To support clergy and layity and tomake the insights of the lccmore applicable tomodern times. Would you like to share some of your personal life? Bishop Gert Jan: The importance of personality vanishes... Which country are you Bishop of? Bishop Gert Jan: Auxiliary bishop for The Netherlands. How big is the country? What is the number (approx.) of inhabitants of the country? Bishop Gert Jan: About 40.000 km² and 17million people. When was the lcc established in your country? Bishop Gert Jan: In 1916. In which cities do you have congregations? Bishop Gert Jan: Amsterdam, Arnhem, Haarlem, Naar- den, Raalte, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Zwolle. What is the challenge for your church? Bishop Gert Jan: The challenge, as I see it, is to be a beacon of light for those who are seeking for it. What is your wish for the future of the lcc? Bishop Gert Jan: That we are true to type. What is your wish for the future of mankind? Bishop Gert Jan: That we may bring heaven to Earth. Has the geS exceeded your expectations? Bishop Gert Jan: It was according tomy expectations. The ges leaves matters as much as possible to the Church Provinces. What matters the geswas discussed in a proper and concise way. Has the Congress exceeded your expectations? Bishop Gert Jan: It was great tomeet somany different people of all regions of our Church and to celebrate the services together. Most workshops were aimed at personal development.
