15 The four parts of the Centenary Theme are: Awakening , Moving , Intensifying and Transforming . These four move- ments or stages can also be seen in nature, for example: • Arising (budding) • Blooming • Bearing fruit • Disappearing The committee has received the outcome of all the discus- sions and I, as a member of the Preparation Committee, made the following compilation, especially about Awaken ing and Moving . Intensifying and Transforming will be dealt with in Part Two here on the international pages. Centenary Theme 1 Leap into the Light of the Future Part One: More movement would make our Church more widely known Wies Kuiper, on behalf of the Preparation Committee of the Centenary As Preparation Committee of the Centenary , we felt it to be important that all congregations take part, so that it can really become a gathering for and by all. That is why the First Priests of all congregations were requested to ask their congregation what the people spontaneously imagined when thinking about or meditating on one of the parts of the Centenary Theme . When every person had had the opportunity to voice this first impression or image, there would be a further opportunity to engage and explore the subject in the group as a whole. Awakening It is interesting to see that we find the samewords in vari- ous congregations, but also completely different ones. One wonders how this is possible or what is meant by it, although you could get a feeling of why. For example: marriage , letting go , longing for . The most important thing is not somuch the outcome, but the fact that everybody has looked at the words in his or her own individual and unique way and has given meaning to it. Especially the latter. Sometimes you look at something and it fades away. Then it has no effect. But if you give meaning to it, it becomes clearer in and to yourself. We often see that Awakening and Moving are mentioned as one. For example: open your eyes andmove the bedding . Or: the sun rises , or: the rooster crows . Spiritual awakening is also often expressed with words such as: awareness, insight, realizing that it was there before you realized it, connecting to your inner source, ‘aha erlebenis’, admiration, listening to your Higher Self, curiosity, intuition. Not somuch ‘I’m awakening’ but rather: ‘something is awakening inme.’ Or: the presence of Angels, sounds that echo deep withinme, letting the ego shrink. There is also the question of: shouldn’t we awaken from a liturgy that has stayed the same for over 100 years. Of course it is impossible tomention all that was said. But what strikes is that if you see all thesewords together they all bear the essence of Christmas. The birth or the awakening of the Christ consciousness in the temple of your own heart. Moving If we look at Moving , there are words that were already mentioned at Awakening . That is understandable, be- cause these words are very closely linked together. You find expressions such as: move from your seat, also in a spiritual sense, be moved or touched, (alsomenti- oned at Awakening ), current, change, create, live, dance, walk, cycle, dance through the spheres, Tai Chi, go the way, stand still andmove on, water as the ultimate movement, connect heart andmind, thinking and feeling from the heart, to be curious, to know that you are being carried. Mother of Wisdomwho builds her house and erects her 7 pillars, the 7 chakras with which the spiritual person connects to the material world and the physical person. To free oneself from that which frustrates ones spiritual growth. Moving is the opposite of Freezing , tomove is to feel in height and the depth. To fill your own temple with Light. Another thing is: what moves a person to go to church every Sunday and take part in the Eucharist? Or: Is everything always the same? Can content move? More movement wouldmake our churchmore widely known. Someone said: if we talk about moving we should firstly think about activating the soul. That is really what a congregation service is about. If then the Christ consciousness has awakened in our own hearts, that’s where it will move. The angels , the shepherds and the Sages will come into the temple in your own heart. That is how you can prepare the way for Intensifying and Transforming . You will findmore on Intensifying and Transforming in Part Two , on the next side of these International Pages .
